“You are so selfish, not to get vaccinated.” There’s no need to say this.
No one is obligated or should be pressured into saving someone else.
Before we had COVID-19 vaccination, spreading the virus was especially threatening the lives of vulnerable people. The not-at-risk were selfish if they were careless. (Though the virus can cripple and kill anyone.)
But once the vulnerable people are vaccinated, people uninformed or stubborn enough not to get vaccinated mostly endanger themselves.
Besides, a positive approach, when available, always works better than guilt-trips, fear-mongering, and other negative stuff.
And we do have a positive approach! Sick and tired (pardon the pun) of being cautious and careful, isolated and poor? Get vaccinated!
The faster you’re immune, the earlier you can be part of the economic, mental, and social recoveries.
Is there an unknown long-term risk in accepting this new vaccine? Yes, there is. But you’d rather have the unknown long-term risk of COVID-19?
Remember the people who flaunted anti-pandemic measures screaming that being un-free, poor, and isolated was worse than death? Tell them there now is a third option: freedom, no poverty, no isolation, no death.
Everyone who gets vaccinated with a smile protects themselves and the people around them, but also will inspire countless others to follow suit.
Happy recovery, everyone.
