Thank You Metallica
Metallica has always been my favorite band of all time for as long as I can remember. I’ve been to two of their shows, own all their music, and have several Metallica shirts. I even play a variety of Metallica songs on the piano. I am a hardcore Metallica fan. And recently, I respect them even more.
On October 10th, at Metallica’s Las Vegas concert, Metallica’s frontman James Hetfield had an awesome message. Metallica’s not here like some other entertainers to influence you with their bullshit. We’re here to forget about all the outside shit. Agenda is love, energy, and heavy music, baby.”
A spot-on message that was meant for the majority of Americans who don’t want to hear politics at a rock concert. Most Americans want to listen to the music. Metallica was merely holding folks like Macklemore accountable for trying to brainwash people into believing their nonsense.
It really amazed me to see people in my former party not understand the difference between political messaging in songs and political speeches at a rock concert. Metallica didn’t say, “Don’t stand up for something,” nor did they say they have no values they believe in. They are merely saying there is a time and a place for political rants, and a rock concert isn’t one of them.
I want to thank James Hetfield and Metallica for standing up for us who don’t want to hear the outside bullshit, and for letting us escape through the wonderful music I have listened to for years. And when Metallica comes to Florida, I’ll get tickets.
