The Lubavitcher Rebbe was very different
Perfect. He always knew the right thing to say to every person. A prisoner. A wounded soldier.
He knew how to lift their spirits, motivating them to accomplish great things.
He created an army. Ready to win. And he told them how.
So many stories. Childless couples, down-and-out individuals, army generals, brilliant scientists. He spoke their language, understood what they were feeling, and gave advice and blessings that were often clear miracles.
Yet he was very down to earth. He talked on your level. He was with you, yet in a wondrous way, also transcended.
We loved the Rebbe. We would treasure times when we could observe him. We hung on to his teachings and to stories related about him.
But most of all, we wanted to emulate him.
The Rebbe is a blessing for our generation. His teachings and his emissaries continue to inspire millions.
The Rebbe talked about Moshiach. He wanted us to study about it and to feel if, to live it, to live our lives with a strong awareness of G-d’s presence.
Perhaps, very soon, we will finally see the Redemption, with the rebuilding of the third and eternal Beit Hamikdosh — the eternal Temple, that we want so much. And then we will truly realize and appreciate all that life can give.
