The Peace Plan
(1) Welcome the Palestinian peace proposal by Palestinian PM Shtayyeh for demilitarised Palestine with equal territorial exchanges, capital in East Jerusalem, and a NATO peacekeeping force.
(2) Offer further improvements to the Palestinian proposal such as:
-insistence on Palestinian democracy;
-complete disarming of Hamas and Islamic Jihad, so that they would become political parties only;
-free trade agreement between Israel and Palestine;
-double citizenship agreement, to allow an agreed number of Palestinians to live in Israel and Israelis to live in Palestine;
– a Western judicial authority to help Israel and Palestine peacefully resolve property disputes.
I am sure that if this was done it would result in stable peace and would be welcomed by all Western nations.
And very importantly, it would save Israel from prosecution by the ICC and future economic sanctions for the apartheid situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, known in Israel by the name “Judea and Samaria”, and outside of Israel by the name “West Bank”.
