The Right Deal: Topple Iran; Peace in Gaza/W Bank
It is time for both Israel and America to get realistic. There is only one viable deal to be had: Israel gets its way on Iran. America gets its way on the West Bank and Gaza.
Iran is the existential danger, not Gaza or the West Bank. Neither Israel nor America can afford to let the regime in Tehran survive. But Israel can easily afford to accept the American terms on the West Bank and Gaza: no annexations, and a long half-peace with the PA and a Hamas-free authority in Gaza.
Netanyahu should hurry to offer President Trump the one good deal that he can accept: finish off Iran, and, in return, call off Israel’s defiance on Gaza and the West Bank.
What this deal means
“Finish off Iran” means regime change – the good wholesale regime change that America did so many times in the past, from 1776 to 1945. And it did it with great success, in all those years before the Leftwingers in our media and academia started drumming it into our heads that we should hate ourselves for it and never find the courage to do it right again.
“Call off Israeli defiance in Gaza and the West Bank” means, first, pause there while taking out the Iranian sponsors of our enemies there, then use the opening we’ll get with the Ayatollahs gone and forge the imperfect peace that Trump wants.
Trump can meanwhile using his huge influence to knock Israeli heads together and forge a more moderate Netanyahu-led coalition that can carry through reliably on this, free of the Smotrich wing of irreconcilables.
How to finish off the Islamic Republic of Iran
Yoni Tobin of the Jewish Institute for National Security of America has just shown how to do it. So have many others earlier. We can summarize the matter simply:
- There would be a disabling surprise opening strike on crucial regime facilities. America, with its superior capabilities, would probably conduct this strike.
- We would then unleash Israel to do the rest. The full service job, not just a jab.
Fortunately Israel is willing to pay the price to see it through for us. It knows its own neck is on the line. (So is ours, but we don’t feel it in the belly the way Israel does.) And it can carry it all the way through — through to the complete overthrow of the regime, and through to the investiture and stabilization of the pro-Western regime that a full 80% of the Iranian people have told pollsters that they want.
We would never again let the Witkoff-Vance wing stop us on the edge of victory. We would never again stop Israel and the Iranian people from finishing the job for us.
Iran is a Great Opportunity for Trump
Iran is not like Iraq. It is not like any Arab country. It is a 5000-year old civilization, like ourselves. And, like Japan and Germany in 1945, it is a country that has gone through the hell of a totalitarian anti-Western ideological regime. It desperately wants back into the civilized world.

It is an opportunity waiting for all of America. An opportunity waiting for Trump to seize it.
The price Trump is paying for having punted once on greatness
Trump is meanwhile experiencing the damage done to America’s position by having forced Israel to stop and make a fake peace with Iran. He is seeing, frankly, the cost he is having to pay for the follies of Witkoff and Vance.
Iran was on the ropes. Israel was winning America’s war for it – the 46 year war the Ayatollahs have been fighting against us, a war that has cost us dearly due to our tolerating it all these years. But instead of letting Israel go through to success, Witkoff & Co. called it off and stopped it, leaving Iran to rebuild the threat to us. Trump is left holding the bag.
We still have time — limited time — for Greatness today
Now it will be harder finish the job. But not too much harder, thanks be to our own powers – America’s and Israel’s – for having destroyed the worst of Iran’s capabilities in the last year.
And now, Trump is finding that he has to let Israel finally do it.
Why? Because we see the costs of having let the evil regime regain its footing. Every day we wait, it continues with its work to rebuild its nuclear and missile programs, making full use of the help it gets on this from our enemies around the world — Russia, China, and North Korea. And in the course of this pause in the war, between 10,000 and 20,000 of our courageous friends in Iran, the good people who trusted Trump’s promise that “help is on the way”, have been murdered by the regime. All this, thanks to Witkoff’s foolhardy ways.
Every day of delay gives the regime more time for its ongoing efforts to prepare new, deadlier strikes against us, using every method it can muster — regional proxies, missiles, dirty nukes. Every day of delay makes it that much more pain that we will have to endure to bring an end to this nightmare regime. And the “we” that pays here is not just America and Israel. It is also the Iranian people.
Our window of opportunity
Fortunately we and Israel destroyed so much of the regime’s capabilities during the 12-day war that we can still finish it off without too much risk and damage. This will not be true forever, but it is true now. We have a window of opportunity.
For 46 years, we have only needed a President who had the common sense to go through with it and bring down the Islamist regime. Now we may finally have that President.
