There is a battle that has been festering for thousands of years. Bombings, terrorism, threats, and missiles are just a few everyday occurrences Israel faces continuously.
Israel consumes a tiny sliver of a geographical area located in the Middle East, yet it is in the forefront of utmost contempt. The center of Biblical prophecy surrounds this tiny, holy nation and anti-Israel propaganda is becoming globally consuming.
Hamas and Islamic Jihad execute innocent civilians, send children on bombing missions, and slaughter Jews and Christians, with minimal to no outrage. Israel dares to just simply exist and they get lambasted with international fury. The disproportionate response is staggering.
The United Nations targets Israel with a vengeance, but they seem happy to ignore actual human rights violators around the world such as Syria, Libya, the Palestinian Authority, China, or Saudi Arabia.
Israel, a democracy, has been condemned substantially more times than the North Korean dictatorship. In 2018, the U.N. General Assembly passed 21 resolutions condemning Israel, while there were only six passed for the rest of the world. This is the same U.N. that failed to pass a resolution condemning Hamas.
Israel is a greatly blessed nation in terms of economics, technology, medicine, tourism, and military intelligence. However, what they lack in allies they make up for in enemies.
Hatred for Jews and Israel is on the rise. Anti-Semitism agendas are running rampant through global governments. We have two US congresswomen, Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, openly supporting the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement and continuously making headlines for suggestive Anti-Semitic comments.
President Trump made an aboriginal stance when on December 6, 2017, he recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. President Trump broke the world’s tradition of rejecting Israel’s true capital and was met with outcry. While the world wailed, many evangelicals rejoiced at such a bold resolution and prophetical achievement.
The pure undisputed hatred for the meager nation of Israel might seem illogical and shocking to some, but for Christians, it is nothing short of expectation.
Biblical prophecy has clearly laid the path for the prediction of such:
The Revival of the Roman Empire 1957 – Daniel 7:23-24 & Daniel 2:40
Jerusalem won back 1967 – Amos 9:14-15 & Luke 21:24
The Hebrew Language restored – Zephaniah 3:9
Ethiopian Jews brought back 1991 – Ezekiel 36:24-28 & Isaiah 43:6
Fertility of the land of Israel – Isaiah 35:7 & Joel 2:23
Blood moons, the Star of David, and Palestinian conflict are just some of the signs outlined in Scripture that have been unfolded before our eyes.
I don’t believe Christians should waste time asking why is this happening to Israel but rather how can we help Israel facilitate this inevitable occurrence. We will be the minority. We will be slandered for our viewpoints. We will be alienated for lending our support.
Will we let our fear produce retreat or will we courageously contend for Israel’s right to exist?
