It doesn’t seek land, peace, or prosperity
This is my opinion. I’m not trying to prove anything. I’m only telling you what I think as an Israeli Jew, intensely following the news for decades.
Chamas has now ‘agreed’ with Trump’s plan. ‘Only,’ the 72 hours to free all the kidnapped is ‘unrealistic,’ and the rest needs to be discussed.
Trump doesn’t know it’s Middle-Eastern slang for ‘we commit to nothing.’
Beware: Chamas first wants to kill loads of Israelis to show it didn’t give up and wasn’t overpowered—as if the US and Israel were the ones giving in.
Any signed agreement (don’t hold your breath) will be violated by the terrorists, blaming infighting or communication disruptions by Israel.
This won’t lead to peace until I see it. Why?
It gives them amnesty, but they want to fight, even a losing battle.
It keeps the Gazans in the Gaza Strip, but what good is that if you can’t inculcate into them from the cradle to murder Jews?
In time, it gives Gazans self-rule, but a demilitarized area stops Chamas.
It doesn’t let them kill Jews, exterminate all Jews, or destroy the Western World and replace it with a caliphate.
It will provide Gazans with housing, healthcare, food security, and democracy. They won’t be interested in violent Jihad.
Investigations will show that there were practically no civilian casualties, no hunger, and no genocide by Israel. Chamas doesn’t need this clarity.
It would free thousands of convicted Palestinian murderers, but when they overrun Israel, those will be free anyway. (Antisemites never lose hope.)
It celebrates Western truth over Arab honor.
It’s a total defeat of their October 7, 2023 ‘ideals.’
The hostages are their only bargaining chip. Chamas is evil but not stupid. They will drag out this ‘first phase’ as long as possible.
Why would Chamas want this? It wants Iran to restock on rockets and nukes. It wants Chezbollah to survive Lebanon’s disarmament. It wants the PA to strengthen. They’re in a winning mood, no matter the setbacks.
Most of the Arab and Muslim countries are so fed up with the money-guzzling, violent Palestinian ‘politicians.’ Chamas doesn’t care.
Their friends are not cheering. There are no Palestinian Pride marches in the world’s capitals celebrating peace and reconstruction. They didn’t celebrate and support the Gazan protest marches against Chamas.
After October 7, 2023, pro-Chamas demonstrations were held around the globe in great indignation! Why? Because the Jews fought back and were not overpowered, and the terrorists outside the Gaza Strip did not join. They felt humiliated! And now again, they don’t want peace or prosperity. They want honor for Chamas and the Jews dead. So they’re furious.
The good of Trump’s plan is that it shows who the murderers are and who the victims are, especially if they reject it. Unfortunately, in a post-truth world, few go by facts and proofs and many by narrative and opinion.
And it ain’t over. Lieberman warned us for years about Chamas, and we ignored him. Now, he warns against Iran. We’d better listen.
Don’t blame the victim, Israel, whose PR fails against global Antisemitism.

Like most of his readers, he believes in being friendly, respectful, and loyal. However, if you think those are his absolute top priorities, you might end up disappointed. His first loyalty is to the truth. He agrees that in a post-truth world, that's irrelevant, but then this is for the record. He will try to stay within the limits of democratic and Jewish law, but he won't lie to support opinions or people when don't deserve that. (Yet, we all make honest mistakes, which is just fine and does not justify losing support.) He admits that he sometimes exaggerates to make a point, which could have him come across as nasty, while in actuality, he's quite a lovely person to interact with. Chronologically, his most influential teachers are his parents, Nico (natan) van Zuiden and Betty (beisye) Nieweg, Wim Kan, Mozart, Harvey Jackins, Marshal Rosenberg, Reb Shlomo Carlebach, and, lehavdil bein chayim lechayim, Rabbi Dr. Natan Lopes Cardozo, Rav Zev Leff, and Rav Meir Lubin. This short list doesn't mean to disrespect others who taught him a lot or a little. One of his rabbis calls him Mr. Innovation [Ish haChidushim]. Yet, his originalities seem to root deeply in traditional Judaism, though they may grow in unexpected directions. In fact, he claims he's modernizing nothing. Rather, mainly basing himself on the basic Hebrew Torah text, he tries to rediscover classical Jewish thought almost lost in thousands of years of stifling Gentile domination and Jewish assimilation.
