Western Fools
The photo of a smiling Gaza boy, “found alive” after being falsely declared killed by Israeli forces, should be the story that finally wakes up the West. But don’t count on it. For decades, Hamas has perfected the art of staging tragedies, recycling photos, and pushing propaganda that the Western press swallows whole. The lie travels around the world before the truth ever catches up and by then, the damage is done.
This isn’t just about one boy. It’s about a systematic strategy. Hamas knows that images of dead children, real or fabricated ignite outrage and delegitimize Israel in the eyes of the West. Every time a gullible journalist parrots their claims, every time an influencer cries crocodile tears over “massacres” that never happened, Hamas scores a victory in the information war.
And the West never learns.
Which is exactly why the Taliban now sees its opening. Reports show that they are inviting Western influencers to visit Afghanistan, rolling out the red carpet for naïve Instagrammers in search of “authentic travel experiences.” They understand the game: if Hamas can fool Western audiences with fake funerals, why can’t the Taliban launder their image with TikTok reels of mountain views and “hospitality”?
It’s the same cynical playbook that exploits the West’s self-hatred, its addiction to narratives of oppression and victimhood, and its army of credulous influencers desperate for likes and clout.
The danger is obvious. This isn’t harmless travel blogging. It’s a propaganda war. Every staged photo, every selective clip, every influencer duped into becoming a mouthpiece for tyranny, strengthens the hand of terrorists and weakens the free world.
Western leaders and media elites may shrug it off, but ordinary people should not. Because every false Hamas casualty report, every Taliban-friendly travel vlog, every influencer selfie in a regime’s backyard adds up to one thing: the legitimization of terror.
The question is whether the West will keep being played for fools or finally learn that in this war, the battlefield isn’t just Gaza or Kabul. It’s your Instagram feed.
