I usually stay far away from anything political, but what’s going on in Israel right now is far more than political. Many people have been sharing the stat that more Jews were killed this past Saturday than on any other day since the Holocaust. This is astounding and not totally fathomable. I can’t help but think about how many more comparisons to the Holocaust this war has already shown.
People being dragged out of their homes.
People being killed simply for being Jewish.
Families being forcibly separated from each other. People hiding without food, water, or a bathroom, and being unable to make any noise for fear of being found by terrorists.
People searching everywhere for their missing loved ones.
Vicious hatred running rampant.
History is literally repeating itself. Hamas does not have the capacity to understand that the past thousands of years of history make it very very clear that Israel and the Jews will never be wiped off the map no matter how hard they try. The Jews are here to stay. This fight to prove Hamas wrong was not planned and has gotten off to a very scary start, and nobody really knows what’s to come. Hamas’ brutality is not anything that a sane human being can wrap their head around. Shooting people dead as they are running to bomb shelters after having been woken up by air raid sirens, kidnapping babies and elderly people with dementia, among many other horrific inhumanities that I’m sure you’ve read about on the news. It’s all true. This is a very personal situation for Jews all over the world, and we hope and pray that the support of the outside world and our unity as a nation can bring the miracles that we need to restore safety to our country once and for all.
