You are not alone

On a busy Las Vegas street corner . . .  the lone protestor held a large sign, “HITLER WAS RIGHT,” declaring his allegiance to the Germany dictator who history records as being responsible for the death of 50 million lives and the mass murder of over 6-million Jews. This man’s physical appearance was as threatening as his abominable thoughts intentionally broadcast around the corner from a Jewish children’s day school. He is the epitome of a coward.

Although alone on this day, he has had countless friends throughout history – and they have gathered once again. Many people have only recently become aware of the putrefying anti-Semitism defiling colleges, cities, and countries around the globe, but the Jewish community has endured centuries of it.

A cursory study of Spain, France, Portugal, Poland-Lithuania, Russia, Germany and other “Christian” nations including Italy, Austria, and Ireland, reveals recurring patterns: the Jewish communities making extraordinary contributions to the societies in which they lived, only to face persecution and forced removal.

The Jews of England thrived for generations, as did their contributions to commerce and royal finance. King Edward I ordered their expulsion on November 1, 1290, All Saints Day, a Holy Day of Obligation in the Latin Rite of the Catholic Church. Any Jewish families who remained after the deadline would be arrested and executed.
(The Jewish Chronicle reported the number of British Jews opening Aliyah files rose by 68% in 2025.)

The historic suffering of the Jewish people is well known to them. But largely unknown within their community is this miraculous moment, when they have tens of millions of friends throughout the United States who have been fighting on their behalf for decades.

It is a miraculous moment because these new friends are Bible-believing Christians. Throughout history, those carrying the Christian flag have too often been among the fiercest enemies of the Jewish people.

Benjamin Disraeli, Great Britain’s only Jewish Prime Minister stated the following, “The Jews are a nervous people. Nineteen centuries of Christian ‘love,’ have taken a toll.

I began my activism for the nation of Israel in 1981, when President Ronald Reagan decided to sell five U.S.-made AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System) aircraft to Saudi Arabia, a country that was on paper, at war with Israel.

As a new Christian, I knew almost nothing regarding world politics. But deep within my faith, I had been taught that the Jewish people were “the apple of God’s eye, His firstborn, a chosen people” and that we must always honor and protect them.

I have a treasured picture of a pro-Israel rally I helped organize to protest the AWACS sale, complete with my Beatles haircut! The Jewish and Christian communities packed together at Union Square in San Francisco. It was at this rally that I was introduced to AIPAC, and afterward, our church immediately began attending its events.

At first our presence was puzzling to them and the only thing they knew to do with us was to instruct security, “Keep an eye on tables 8, 9, and 10!” It was not long before they warmly embraced us, and at their feet, we learned how to make our voices heard by our local and national legislative leaders.

Many years later, various Christian pro-Israel ministries continue to blanket Capitol Hill annually with their members, meeting with elected officials to promote legislation addressing issues ranging from ending funding of the Palestinian Authority and UNRWA, combating anti-Semitism to expanding Holocaust education and ultimately moving our U.S. embassy to Jerusalem.[1]

In 1981, Pastor John Hagee’s Cornerstone Church began hosting an annual Night to Honor Israel. Since then, they have given more than $135 million to Israeli and Jewish causes. Over 20 years ago, Hagee had a dream of creating a Christian “AIPAC.” In September 2026, as Christians United For Israel (CUFI) gathered for its annual Washington D.C. Summit, his dream and organization had grown to more than 10 million members.[2]

Since October 7, 2023, CUFI has raised over $11 million for displaced Israelis, first responders, emergency medical care, hospitals, soldiers and other Israeli relief efforts.

Pastor Dumisani Washington is the founder of the Institute for Black Solidarity with Israel (IBSI) and former CUFI Diversity Outreach Director. He is bringing over 500 Black American and African pastors to Israel as part of the “”Unfinished Business Holy Land Tour”[3] from November 4–11, 2026. The tour commemorates the 59th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s planned pilgrimage to Israel, which never took place because of his assassination.

Every year, hundreds of Christian pastors representing hundreds of thousands of congregants are brought to Israel and presented with the truth concerning the Jewish people’s existential struggle and their unparalleled commitment to upholding moral standards, including caring for their enemies. These pastors return home, many hosting regular pro-Israel events to teach their congregations the truth about the Middle East and the God-given right of the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob to  live in their indigenous and ancestral homeland of Israel.

Unfortunately, almost none of this is ever reported by the primary news sources of our time. Their disdain for the nation of Israel spills over onto our enormous faith community who love the people and nation of Israel – while they give airtime to those who claim our religious DNA but whose actions profane the God of the Bible.

Today’s Christian supporters of Israel are regretfully linked, and in name only with the many Jew-hating voices including so-called Christians like Tucker Carlson, Candice Owens, and their followers. They are the ideological descendants of the anti-Semitic Christians whose voices were silent and doors were closed to the plight of the Jews during the Shoah  – and we condemn them!

The pro-Israel Christians of today are of the lineage of Ruth the Moabitess, and we beseech our Jewish brothers and sisters with the words Ruth spoke to Naomi:

“Please – don’t ask us to leave your side,

For wherever you go, we will go, and wherever you stay, we will stay.

Your people will be our people and your G-D our G-D.

Where you die, we will die, and there we will be buried together.”

You are not alone – Am Yisrael Chai!
