3 AM Thoughts from a Kibbutz under Fire

My kibbutz, Hannaton, smack in the middle of this red blurb.
My kibbutz, Hannaton, is smack in the middle of this red splotch.

I live on a small kibbutz in the Jezreel Valley, and lately, it feels like we’re right in the middle of all the rockets coming in from Lebanon. Here are some thoughts from 3 AM after being woken up from more and more sounds of booms:
#gratitude

1. For the Iron Dome intercepting nearly all the rockets coming in.
2. For our safe room to protect us.
3. For being with my family in the safe room, so we all feel less alone.
4. For the IDF, the bravest of heroes.
5. For WhatsApp, so I can stay in touch with family and friends.
6. For the Book of Psalms, which comforts me during these times.
7. For yoga and breathing practices and getting unSTUCK work, which help me handle tough situations so much better than I could without them.
8. For music and musical instruments, which help us temporarily escape to other places, in a healthy way.
9. For Boaz, for lots of reasons.
10. For my faith, for without it, I think I’d be a complete mess.

Yes, fear may come and go, but this is how I transform fear into gratitude when I’m focusing well.

And this is possible to do at any moment.
