Bring Israel To Your Neighborhood With Fam IL Boxes With Cindy Grosz

Everyone who follows me knows one of the best ways that I can promote defeating BDS and also educating the world about our beautiful Israel, is to promote companies and unique products that represent Israel and are available worldwide.

I recently interviewed Tali, one of Fam IL Boxer’s co-owners and creative forces behind the company.

Our passion is to connect families / individuals / organizations with their Jewish / Israeli roots, by sharing Israeli gift boxes or gifts for an event you host. All the items sent directly from Israel to our clients, worldwide.

Their story begins a few years ago, when Tali lived in the US and realized how Jews and Israelis are thrilled to feel connected to Israel. In many different ways.  When she was once invited to a Bat Mitzvah party, she figured out that it’s not straight forward to find a nice and original Israeli gift. At that moment, she wished one of her friends in Israel sent her a gift she could give at the event. Of course, it was a challenge, and it took three years to formulate a product and team to develop Fam IL Boxes.

One of the main values in creating a box or now swag bag is the focus on Tikun Olam (repairing the world). At this stage, we chose to work with Organization Aleh, that gives advanced medical, educational and rehabilitative care for over 750 children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and complex medical conditions. Each box contains at least one of their products, hand made by such kids.

All of our boxes are priced by duplications of 18, in order to create a meaningful gift. Chai is a symbol of “life” in the Jewish culture, or18 in numerology.

I recently spoke with Tali, the creator and co-owner of Fam IL Boxes:

1. How do we decide which products go into the box-
This is exactly our expertise. Michal and I (Tali) are posses a rear combination of both working/living with jews and Israelis around the world (me) and a professional-experienced styling and fashion expert (Michal).  Moreover, we are both Israelis and pure zionists. Therefore, our clients always get The one of a kind gift box.  On one hand we know our clients and potential market very well, and on the other hand, we know the best quality-unique-up to date Jewish/Israeli products and designers.

Each box is unique and we put lots of thought in the prep phase. On our Bar/Bat Mitzvah and bday gift boxes we always offer one fabric item (A t-shirt, A towel, etc. ), a jewlary, and a fun item ( like our beach Matkot at the Bar Mitzvah box, or a small Chai wallet at our Bat Mitzvah box). on our holiday boxes, we mainly focus on a family experience products.  Those are just some examples for our bar/Bat Mitzvah boxes.
Talking about our gift boxes, (and not published yet), we are in a process of developing our line of “happy socks” and pj’s that contains only Israeli/Jewish symbols. For example, socks with falafel balls image or a western wall pj. In each box we are planning to put one item from our collection.

2. How has the non-Jewish world looked at the company?
Yes! We do have non Jewish clients, mainly from Mexico and the US, thus far. We make a special Jerusalem box for them which contains holy products from Jerusalem and Tiberia. We are in process to extend our non Jewish clientele, especially in Africa, South and Mid America countries.  They are thrilled with our holy land boxes.

3. Do you make individual boxes and/or swag bags?
Since our website is still under construction, we get personal questions only via e-mail. We do launch a very basic questionnaire, asking only for age, gender, religious, hobbies, colors and reason for such gift + a particular favorite place in Israel. We do the rest.

We do have a variety of cool swag bag options on our Etsy shop, but definitely make personalized swag. For example, we’ve sent purple Hamsah bracelets to a Bat Mitzvah celebration that was all decorated purple, or pens with Israeli flag and the name of the company for a Jewish conference.

Regarding our gift boxes, clients send us their requests and we compose the ultimate box for them. We just sent a few gift boxes to Denmark for a non-Jewish lady who celebrated 90 and to her relatives. We built a special box for each one of them, based on such questionnaire. They were thrilled and thanked us tons of times. They said they were really moved by the items!

I look forward to your Purim and Pesach offerings!

I research and publish about many Israeli companies and products and Fam IL Boxes is one of the best! You get a beautifully presented package within days aground the world from Eretz Yisroel!!!!
