British children volunteer for ISIS because of austerity…
Rhea Wolfson is a Jew-For-Jeremy who has just been elected to Labour’s NEC. She says she is “keen to ensure that our party is an environment which is hospitable to both Jews and Zionists.”
On Any Questions (12 August), Rhea – in the discussion about Khadiza Sultana – criticised Prevent and then suggested that sympathy for ISIS among UK Muslims is caused by public spending cuts (17:38 on the recording). The presenter, Ritula Shah, expressed incredulity, as did Tim Montgomerie.
Khadiza Sultana was a 17 year old victim of child abuse. She and the two other girls from Bethnal Green Academy in London who travelled to Syria were duped by the ISIS propaganda which suggests it’s ‘cool’ for a Muslim girl to volunteer to marry Jihadi fighters for ISIS. The Prevent programme – and the associated ‘Channel’ anti-radicalisation programme – was set up precisely BECAUSE of cases like Khadiza’s. Perhaps if her teachers had followed Prevent properly, Khadiza might not have died. Or perhaps they did – I am not sure we will ever know
Rhea should read this. And then maybe she could then explain to us how Khadiza’s death was due to public spending cuts and why the Prevent programme is misconceived.
It hardly imbues one with confidence in Rhea’s ability to ensure that Labour will be “hospitable to both Jews and Zionists”, does it?
PS Neither does this……………….:
