Cindy’s Corners NYFW Menswear Find: The Perfect White Shirt

Among the many invitations I received to events during New York Fashion Week for the spring/summer 2019 seasons, I was intrigued with a garment I was introduced to in a meeting with the men behind the “Perfect White Shirt.”

Meet Keter Avinu

Keter Avinu was founded in 2017, inspired from the attitudes based in New York City, Lakewood NJ and the Gold Coast of Long Island, New York. Their desire to fill their own closers with shirts that go from dryer to daily use is exemplified from the meticulous detail in design and fabric. Their goal was ton provide functionality by creating a men’s dress shirt that is unparalleled in poise and purpose for their clientele. It took three years to find the right fabric that provides an optic sheen and resilience that anyone would be impressed with – mixed with the functionality of non-iron, stain resistance, and the ease of washing with your washing machine and then one a hanger to dry (no drying cycle necessary, never needs dry-cleaning). This no-dry-clean-need shirt looks new in a few hours. They believe opulence in style is extremely important when making the right impression.

Our top-quality fabric is produced with 100% cotton sourced from the best mills, lined with Teflon (for anti-shrinkage in the wash). Henry Picado

Picado is no stranger to providing Jewish customers one-of-kind garments for weddings, Bar Mitzvahs and every other Jewish event. Henry Picado was my fashion designer of choice to dress me last year when I was honored as the Woman of the Year by the National Council of Young Israel. He had just been featured in the Sunday New York Times as the designer of a Grammy nominee. Picado, of Costa Rican descent, found ancestry that included Marranos, and has since studied the laws of tznius dress, which he incorporated into his designs for women of all ages and sizes.

Henry Picado is the former Creative Director of JS Collections and has decided to start his own brand at this time. ESTE & CHLO comes to life under Henry’s extensive experience and well known reputation as an international designer in the fashion industry. Henry makes another footprint in the fashion world by bringing the success of his previous brands to ESTE & CHLO. Henry has caught the attention of many editors, stylists and celebrities and his designs have garnered a strong following including Lauren Conrad, Stephanie Pratt, Anna Lynn McCord, Carrie Ann Inaba, Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Soledad O’Brien, and Dayana Mendoza (Miss Universe 2008). When Henry was a Senior Designer for Aidan Mattox his work appeared on a wide range of television shows including Gossip Girl, 90210, Dancing with the Stars, The Hills and The Today Show.

Since inception, the ownership has always believed in a “giving back” mindset to those less fortunate. With ties to the Middle East, Keter Avinu continuously donates 10% of net profits to organizations which tend to poverty stricken families in need of food. The ownership also donates clothing to those troubled areas.
