The Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the Magen David
One fine morning I was awoken by my own dream. I was so shocked with myself that I had to get up to check if it was really me in the mirror. It looked like me, just older, as if something had happened overnight that caused another deep fold on my face. Not a wrinkle – those are pretty, like crows feet and laughter lines – I mean a fold, a new crevasse, a little ‘wadi’ – an expression of moving time. The visuals of my dream flashed in the mirror and the realization of how diabolical it was actually scared me. I had to check that no one was watching. No, I’m alone, no one saw it.
After the second Iranian attack, I have decided to release my shocking imagination and share it with you, hoping that you will not judge me. I will leave the reader to interpret it and leave comments. It may be interesting to know how people comprehend the dream differently Please note: my intention is not to offend anyone, but if you are offended, it’s ok. It’s not personal, it’s just a metaphor, take it however you please. I am not in control of my dreams. The dream took place just after the first Iranian attack on Israel:
News headlines:
The Ayatollah Khamenei found dead of unknown causes.
He drops dead in the middle of a speech about the impending total destruction of Israel. Everyone is curious and wants to know what happened. It must be investigated by the Iranian authorities. The world is already pointing fingers at us. There are speculations – was it the Mossad, was it natural and a coincidence? Was it the hand of G-d? The world is waiting for the answer. An autopsy is required as the death was under suspicious circumstances. The results come in. The cause is discovered.
News headlines:
Cause of death – severe constipation. Small Magen-David found lodged in his colon.
What is happening with my own metaphorical imagination? I share the dream with a few friends and each one has a totally different interpretation. It is true how the smallest of things in the world are generally the most dangerous. Mosquitos spread Malaria. Viruses and bacteria cause disease and death. COVID. Even microscopic fungus can cause a wide range of symptoms, from irritation to life threatening disease. The atom – bomb.
Are we an irritant?
We are a small people. 0.2% of the world population. We also seem to be the eye of the storm. The world seems to want to shake us off like an annoying bug in the summer heat.
The small things also have power, a special power of adaptation. Words are also small things. Words have power. We are a microcosm, a tiny world with big ideas.
Our creativity affects the world and we are constantly effected. The little Magen David, stuck in his system, after huge ballistic missiles were aimed at us. We have to be smart.
It’s really David and Goliath.
